Far from Home | NIHR Research Publication
Far from Home follows four families’ across London, South Yorkshire and the North West who found themselves living with housing insecurity for a variety of reasons, including fleeing domestic abuse, relationship breakdown, asylum/migration, loss of employment, health problems, eviction, and income not keeping up with the rise in rent and cost of living expenses.
Research for the publication was conducted by Hannah Fairbrother, Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Lead Researcher from the University of Sheffield, and Dr Anne-Marie from Cambridge University, and was funded by NIHR Research. Collaboratively with illustrator Maisy Summer, we designed and visualised the report, taking inspiration from different domestic spaces, architecture and accommodation details to shape page layouts and design elements.
